Liverpool teenager Rio Ngumoha has no intention of leaving the club amid strong interest from Bayern Munich. The German giants have reportedly made the 17-year-old a key target this summer, with both The Athletic and Sky Germany confirming that talks have taken place with the player's representatives.
Bayern's Pursuit
According to reports, Bayern are considering multiple options to strengthen their attack after a proposed move for Anthony Gordon fell through. Ngumoha has emerged as their top target, with the club keen to secure his signature. However, the youngster's commitment to Liverpool remains unwavering.
England Debut Impresses
Ngumoha's stock rose further on Saturday when he made his senior England debut, coming off the bench to deliver a dazzling performance that earned him the man-of-the-match award. England reporter Oli Gent wrote for Standard Sport: "A livewire off the right flank, using his trickery and quick feet to good effect on his senior debut. Full of confidence, as shown by his double drag-back late on to bamboozle his marker."
Liverpool's Plans
Ngumoha has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign at Anfield, scoring two goals and providing one assist in 29 appearances across all competitions. Liverpool opted not to replace Luis Diaz, who joined Bayern, instead focusing on nurturing Ngumoha's development. He signed a professional contract in September that runs until 2028.
Ngumoha's Loyalty
Liverpool fans can be reassured by Ngumoha's previous comments. After scoring the opening goal in a 2-0 win over Fulham in April, he told Sky Sports: "Liverpool, for me, is the biggest club in the world. To start so young and the manager having belief in me and all the players, it's great. So, I've got to keep working hard and keep pushing on and just go again."
With his contract running until 2028 and his clear affection for the club, a summer departure seems unlikely despite Bayern's advances.
