Rangers are set to push for the return of Mikey Moore from Tottenham Hotspur as the Premier League club undergoes a major squad overhaul. This is according to Kris Boyd, with Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi reportedly keen to make Manchester City winger Savinho one of his first summer signings.
Moore's Impressive Loan Spell
While Spurs battled relegation last season, the teenage Moore impressed on loan in the Scottish Premiership, becoming a key player for Rangers in their title challenge. Rangers manager Danny Rohl has expressed a desire to keep the wonderkid in Glasgow next season, but Moore has stated his intention to fight for a first-team spot in North London during pre-season.
Savinho's Potential Impact
Brazilian winger Savinho appears to be heading for an Etihad exit in search of regular first-team football. Reports suggest a £60 million fee would be required to secure the City star, a move that would immediately push Moore down the pecking order at Spurs. Football London reports that Moore has a "queue of clubs from home and abroad" eyeing a deal, and Boyd believes Rangers will be among them.
"As a young player, I don't think many people were expecting too much of Mikey Moore at Rangers this year, but as the season went on, he grew into it and integrated himself well into the club," Boyd said. "In a season where Rangers performed well below expectations in terms of winning silverware, Moore is one of the few players to have emerged with some credit. It's not easy to join a club as big as Rangers and perform in your first season, so I think he's done very well."
Dan Neil Also on Rangers' Radar
Out-of-contract Sunderland midfielder Dan Neil is another target for Rangers. He was high on Rohl's Ibrox wish list during the winter window but opted to try his luck in the English Championship with Ipswich Town instead. Reports from south of the border suggest Hull City are keen on signing the free agent following their promotion to the Premier League, while The Sun states that "talks" are ongoing with the Glasgow giants.
Oskar Fallenius Update
In-demand Oskar Fallenius has been told he can leave Djurgarden if the right offer comes in, amid reported interest from Ibrox. The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to Rangers this summer with only six months left on his contract at the Swedish club. Wolfsburg are also said to be tracking the star. When asked about Fallenius, Djurgarden boss Jani Honkavaara conceded to Expressen: "Quite a few will leave, and it can happen very quickly for a suitable fee. It cannot be helped."
