Nestlé discontinues Aero Melts after just four years on UK shelves
Nestlé discontinues Aero Melts after four years

Nestlé has confirmed that Aero Melts, the bite-sized bubbly chocolate treat launched in 2021, have been discontinued across the UK. The flat, disc-shaped chocolates, filled with Aero's signature aerated chocolate core and wrapped in a smooth shell, quietly disappeared from supermarket shelves late last year.

Flavours and fan reaction

Over their four-year run, Aero Melts were available in several flavours, including Milk Chocolate & Caramel, Double Chocolate Brownie, Golden Honeycomb and Neapolitan Ice Cream. Fans noticed the treats vanishing at the end of last year, prompting Nestlé to confirm the sad news.

A spokesperson for Nestlé said: “While Aero Melts are no longer available, there are plenty of exciting new products for Aero fans to enjoy. We’ve been strengthening our popular Aero Bubbles lineup, which now includes Orange Flavour Bubbles, Caramel Flavour Bubbles and Aero Milkybar Bubbles alongside Peppermint Bubbles.”

History of Aero

The iconic Aero brand first hit UK shelves in 1935, initially launching solely as a peppermint-flavoured block before introducing the classic milk chocolate bar in 1970. While Nestlé now owns the brand, Aero traces its roots back to York-based confectioner Rowntree’s, which set out to create a lighter, melt-in-the-mouth treat to rival Cadbury’s Dairy Milk.

Current Aero lineup

While Aero Melts are officially a thing of the past, the brand's wider lineup—including Aero Bubbles, Aero Hot Chocolate and Aero Mousse—remains firmly on UK store shelves.
