McDonald's Moves Wrap of the Day Offer Exclusively to App from July 14
McDonald's Moves Wrap of the Day Offer to App Only

McDonald's customers are preparing for a significant dining change next month after 15 years. The fast food chain is discontinuing its well-known Wrap of the Day offer from restaurant menus, shifting the deal exclusively to its mobile app.

End of an Era for In-Store Wrap Deal

The promotion, a cornerstone of McDonald's value menu since 2011, currently allows diners to purchase a changing daily wrap for only £2.49. However, from July 14, customers will no longer be able to order the reduced-price wraps at tills or self-service kiosks. Instead, hungry diners must claim the offer via the McDonald's app through a revamped promotion titled "Get Any Wrap in the App." Although the price remains £2.49, shoppers now need to place orders through the app before picking them up in-store or arranging delivery.

Anyone ordering through kiosks will be forced to pay full menu prices, which range from £4.49 to £5.79. This decision has triggered backlash among some customers online.

Customer Reactions

On a discussion thread about the change in Reddit's r/McDonaldsUK forum, one user wrote: "BOYCOTT BOYCOTT BOYCOTT." Another person fumed: "Well it was the only reason I went to McDonald's so..." Someone else lamented: "THEY'RE REMOVING WRAP OF THE DAY? no way.. I miss when it was £1.99." Numerous customers expressed disappointment that a popular long-standing value deal was essentially being withdrawn from restaurant menus.

McDonald's Statement on the July 14 Change

A McDonald's spokesperson said: "From July 14, our new 'Get Any Wrap in the App' offer will enable customers to redeem any wrap for £2.49, any day of the week, on the McDonald's App. We regularly review the ways we can improve our value offers and moving this new deal onto the app means customers will have more flexibility to choose their favourite wrap on any day they'd like it."

Instead of being limited to a particular wrap based on the day of the week, diners will now have the freedom to select whichever wrap they fancy for £2.49 via the app. The promotion will run between 11am and 11pm daily, though customers are restricted to redeeming it just once per day.

Recent Changes to Other Promotions

The Wrap of the Day overhaul arrives just weeks after McDonald's announced changes to its well-known Food for Thoughts survey promotion. The scheme has traditionally been viewed by loyal customers as one of the most affordable ways to secure a discounted meal after completing a feedback survey. Yet reports circulating among customers online indicated the offer was being modified from May onwards. Previously, many diners used the receipt survey to access a burger-and-fries meal for £2.99. Under the revised structure, customers who complete the survey now reportedly receive a complimentary medium fries, cheeseburger, Oreo McFlurry, or Smarties McFlurry when they spend £5.
