Scotland's first Sephora store officially opened its doors at 10am on July 9 in Edinburgh's St James Quarter, drawing massive queues of eager beauty fans. The global beauty brand's entry into Scotland marks a milestone in its UK expansion, bringing exclusive products from top brands like rhode, HAUS LABS, Makeup by Mario, and others.
Early Birds and Massive Queues
Dedicated shoppers began queuing hours before the opening. TikTok user @lilyspamx91 claimed the first spot by arriving at 4:30am. Another video by @the_dkcuncyte showed queues snaking through the shopping centre at 8:30am, captioned: "8:30am on Sephora's opening day in Edinburgh. I'd rather stay here than go to work. What a vibe!"
Comments on social media revealed shoppers sharing their queue positions, with one writing: "Number 274 istg I better get a goodie bag." Another said: "I'm getting there at 8.30 after I'm off the train ahhhh."
In-Store Experience and Offers
Inside, the store features a live DJ booth and a range of services, including Sephora's signature makeup services, a beauty scan tool for foundation matching, and a loyalty programme. Early customers received a Sephora Beauty Bonus Card with no minimum spend, and goodie bags were available for some lucky shoppers.
The store also offers the MySephora loyalty programme, providing points on purchases, exclusive rewards, early access to launches, and invites to special events. Customers can download the Sephora UK app for exclusive offers.
Glasgow Opening Announced
Following Edinburgh, Sephora confirmed it will open a store in Glasgow's Silverburn Shopping Centre on August 13. Doors will open at 10am, with a queuing system from 8am. The Glasgow opening is expected to generate similar excitement among locals.
