Man Utd Transfer: Gomes Agrees Deal, Rashford Blow

Manchester United have been active in the transfer market this week, but one long-term target has slipped away. Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Joao Gomes has agreed a deal with Aston Villa, leaving training to undergo a medical.

Gomes Agrees £38m Move to Aston Villa

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the deal on X: "João Gomes to Aston Villa, here we go! Verbal agreement in place at €40m fee plus €5m add-ons. Wolves accept £38m package and authorise medical for João Gomes to #AVFC. Gomes left training to travel and complete move."

The 25-year-old Brazilian had been on Manchester United's radar for some time, with Liverpool also monitoring his situation after Wolves' relegation to the Championship. Gomes was one of few bright spots in a dismal Premier League campaign for the Midlands club.

Marcus Rashford's Barcelona Dream Fades

Marcus Rashford's hopes of a permanent return to Barcelona have suffered another blow. Spanish reports indicate that Ferran Torres' future remains uncertain until September, delaying any potential move.

Rashford spent last season on loan at Barcelona, but the Catalan club declined to trigger his £26m buy-out clause. They have since signed Anthony Gordon from Newcastle for £70m and are poised to snap up Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund, both of whom play in Rashford's preferred position.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Torres may sign a new contract in September due to Financial Fair Play concerns. This means Rashford's fate will likely be sealed before any potential departure for Torres.

Youri Tielemans Selects Iconic Shirt Number

New signing Youri Tielemans has chosen the No.18 shirt, previously worn by club legends Paul Scholes, Ashley Young, and Bruno Fernandes in his early seasons. Casemiro was the most recent player to wear it.

Upon his arrival, Tielemans said: "It's hard to describe just how proud I am to join Manchester United. Signing for such a special club feels incredible, it is the culmination of years of dedication since I first fell in love with football. I have had the privilege of experiencing success in the game and it has only increased my determination to achieve more. The ambition from everyone at the club is extremely clear; we are all determined to push for the biggest trophies over the coming years."
