Manchester United have learned the latest on Crysencio Summerville's availability as West Ham United stand firm following their relegation to the Championship. The Red Devils are pursuing two deals this summer, with the Dutch winger and Mateus Fernandes both on their radar.
West Ham in No Rush to Sell
Despite West Ham's agonising drop to the second tier, the club are in no hurry to offload Crysencio Summerville. Michael Carrick's side have joined the race for the 24-year-old, who impressed at the World Cup by scoring for the Netherlands in a thrilling 2-2 draw with Japan. Summerville's value has soared since January, when Tottenham also considered a move for the former Leeds United winger.
Champions League winners PSG are among the clubs looking to capitalise on West Ham's situation, hoping to negotiate a bargain deal. However, West Ham maintain they will not be forced into a premature sale and plan to wait until after the World Cup before opening transfer discussions.
Salary Cuts and Release Clauses
Both Summerville and Fernandes have had their salaries reduced due to relegation clauses in their contracts, yet both are expected to leave this summer. West Ham's new majority shareholder, Daniel Kretinsky, has made it clear the club are under no pressure to sell their prized assets. There remains a genuine chance that captain Jarrod Bowen could stay and feature in the Championship next season.
West Ham would require a fee in the region of £45 million to enter talks over Summerville, while Portuguese midfielder Fernandes carries a price tag of approximately £80 million, with reported interest from Real Madrid and Arsenal. The Gunners have been unwilling to match that valuation and have distanced themselves in recent days, leaving United as the leading candidates provided Real Madrid do not enter the fray.
Other Targets and Competition
Tottenham are in the market for a new winger for Roberto De Zerbi, with informal talks under way with Manchester City regarding a potential move for Savinho. Liverpool are similarly chasing a left-sided forward and had previously tracked Summerville in 2024, though it remains unclear if they will make a move. United also have Iliman Ndiaye and Morgan Rogers under consideration, according to reports.
The Red Devils are expected to be active in the transfer window as they look to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
