Man Utd and Arsenal Battle for Alex Scott in £40m Deal

Manchester United and Arsenal are locked in a battle to sign Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, with the two Premier League giants competing for his signature in a deal worth £40 million.

Scott, 22, has emerged as one of the brightest midfield talents in English football and was instrumental in helping Bournemouth secure European football last season. He was also named in Thomas Tuchel's England squad for games against Serbia and Albania last season, though he did not make an appearance, and later joined the squad for their pre-World Cup camp in Florida.

Multiple Clubs Interested

Up to eight clubs are interested in Scott this summer, including Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Everton. However, Manchester United and Arsenal are now in pole position to land the England midfielder. It's understood that Scott's representatives have held talks with both clubs, and he is expected to make a decision on his future in the next fortnight.

Scott's Preference and Concerns

Scott is said to favour a move to Arsenal, but is worried about how much game time he will get under Mikel Arteta's English champions. Meanwhile, Manchester United have already strengthened their midfield with the signings of Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos in recent weeks, but manager Michael Carrick is still keen to add a third midfielder. However, United are not prepared to get into a bidding war with Arsenal over Scott.
