Former Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho is in talks to leave Chelsea this summer, with Aston Villa in advanced negotiations to sign the Argentinian. Chelsea made Garnacho available for a reported £43m asking price just a year after his move from United.
Sell-on clause benefit
Manchester United are due 10 per cent of any future transfer fee from Garnacho's proposed exit, having already banked money from Mason Greenwood's move to Fenerbahce via a sell-on clause. If Villa sign Garnacho for £43m, United would be owed £4.3m.
However, Villa are negotiating the terms of a transfer, with a loan move and possible obligation to sign being discussed, which could delay United's windfall. Chelsea are open to a temporary departure for Garnacho, with a permanent exit in the future.

The transfer talks follow Chelsea's £117m signing of Aston Villa playmaker Morgan Rogers, a deal that shocked the Premier League. Reigning champions Arsenal were thought to be front-runners for Rogers, only for their London rivals to swoop in.
Garnacho's stock has fallen considerably in recent years, though Villa boss Unai Emery is an admirer of the former United talent. It would not be the first time Emery has looked to hand a United star a second chance, with Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho having loan spells at Villa Park. Rashford impressed during his time with the Villans, but Sancho struggled to rediscover his form.
The former United youngster fell out of favour under Ruben Amorim before being placed in a 'bomb squad' prior to his move to Chelsea. Since joining the Blues, Garnacho has managed just one Premier League goal and has struggled for regular minutes.
