Lottery Win Transformed Life for Glasgow Mother

Olivia Love, 37, from Hamilton, Glasgow, won £120,000 on the National Lottery's Set for Life game in May 2025, receiving £10,000 monthly for 12 months. She quit her supermarket job and used every penny to launch her dream wedding content creator business, Moments by Love.

Despite the money being completely gone after the final instalment in April 2026, Love insists she has no regrets. Speaking to Business Insider, she said: "Money was always a source of stress. I'd say we were on the breadline. We always had enough to pay the rent and the bills, but there was never anything left over at the end of the month."

Investing in a Dream Career

Rather than spending on a house deposit or luxury items, Love invested in her career. She spent approximately £7,500 in the first six months setting up Moments by Love, purchasing equipment like phones and microphones. She also worked several weddings for free or at low cost to build her portfolio.

Love and her family allowed themselves some treats, including a second wedding celebration and a newer car for her husband. However, the bulk of the money went towards establishing her business.

No Regrets Despite Empty Bank Account

Love said: "In the end, I made the decision that was right for my career, for me, and for my family. I didn't save any of our winnings. I could have, but because we'd struggled for so long, I don't regret a thing about choosing to live our best lives."

According to the Moments by Love website, a wedding content creator "captures and curates digital content during a wedding day" with a focus on candid moments without interrupting the flow of the event.
