Liverpool goalkeeper Armin Pecsi is on the verge of agreeing a season-long loan move to Austrian Bundesliga side TSV Hartberg, according to reports. The 21-year-old Hungarian has impressed the Reds since his £1.3 million arrival from Puskas Akademia last June, primarily featuring for the under-21s last season.
First-team involvement and international debut
Pecsi made the first-team bench on five occasions last term and came close to making his debut against Crystal Palace at Anfield in April, only for Freddie Woodman to recover from an injury during the match and continue. The young shot-stopper has been a regular at various age groups for Hungary and made his senior international debut as a substitute in a friendly win over Kazakhstan last month.
Loan destination and previous success
Pecsi is poised to spend the season with Hartberg, who finished sixth in the Austrian Bundesliga last season. Liverpool have previously had success with sending young goalkeepers on loan to Austria; Vitezslav Jaros won the league and cup double while on loan at Sturm Graz during the second half of the 2023/24 season.
The move is expected to provide Pecsi with valuable first-team experience as he continues his development under the guidance of Liverpool's coaching staff.
