Ifeanyi Ndukwe has joined Liverpool's under-21 squad at the AXA Training Centre in Kirkby after the club agreed a £2.6million deal with Austria Vienna earlier this year. The 18-year-old centre-back, who represented Austria at U19 level and played in the U17 World Cup final defeat to Portugal last year, made his senior debut for the Austrian side in May.
Academy Reinforcements
Liverpool have been bolstering their Academy options at both U21 and U18 level. Another new centre-back, 16-year-old Dara Jikiemi from Celtic, is expected to join imminently, with the deal understood to be a formality.
Familiar Faces Return
Monday's session saw the return of several familiar faces, including Jayden Danns, whose previous campaign was hampered by hamstring problems. Former Liverpool boss Arne Slot had admitted the striker would otherwise have had first-team minutes. Also present were Lewis Koumas, Calum Scanlon, Amara Nallo, and Calvin Ramsay, all of whom have senior experience with the Reds.
Kaide Gordon and Isaac Mabaya, sidelined for large spells last season with serious injuries, were pictured in the gym. Fifteen-year-old winger Josh Abe, who committed his future to Liverpool despite interest from leading clubs, was also involved and could join the senior team for the US tour later this month.
