Liverpool Transfer News: Yan Diomande Path Clear as Reds Scout

Liverpool have accelerated their transfer strategy after a fifth-place Premier League finish. With Andoni Iraola as manager and Mohamed Salah departed, the Reds are targeting RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande. An initial £86.7 million offer has been rejected, but the path could clear if PSG sell players first.

PSG Monitoring Diomande Situation

Paris Saint-Germain are tracking the 19-year-old Ivory Coast international but have not yet made a formal bid. According to Fabrizio Romano, Atletico Madrid are in talks to sign Kang-in Lee, which could free up funds and space for PSG to pursue Diomande. However, PSG will only act if the player signals interest in a move to Paris.

PSG already boast attacking depth with Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Desire Doue, and Bradley Barcola. If they join the race, Liverpool could face stiff competition for their primary attacking target.

Liverpool Scout Australian Defender

Liverpool are also monitoring 18-year-old centre-back Lucas Herrington of the Colorado Rapids. The Australian international was on the bench for both Socceroos matches at the 2026 World Cup. Barcelona have already had an initial offer rejected, according to The Athletic.

Herrington's teammate, former Premier League defender Rob Holding, praised the youngster: "He's super composed. Super relaxed on the ball, under pressure. He's a really good player. He just keeps getting better and better each week."

With Virgil van Dijk entering the final year of his contract, Liverpool's defensive planning makes Herrington an attractive prospect. The club already spent £60 million on 20-year-old Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes, leaving their pursuit of Herrington uncertain.
