Manchester United have been presented with a potential swap deal that would send Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Inter Milan in exchange for right-back Denzel Dumfries, according to reports. The proposal comes as Wan-Bissaka considers his future at Old Trafford, having already rejected a move to West Ham United earlier this summer.
United are actively seeking a new right-back and have held talks with Bayern Munich regarding Noussair Mazraoui. However, West Ham had previously agreed a £13.5 million fee, plus £3 million in add-ons, for the 26-year-old Moroccan, but those negotiations broke down on Friday. Mazraoui, who played under Erik ten Hag at Ajax, is reportedly holding out for a move to United.
Inter are interested in signing Wan-Bissaka, and intermediaries have discussed the possibility of a swap deal for Dumfries. The Serie A club had earlier demanded a €30 million (£25.3 million) fee for the Netherlands international. Wan-Bissaka is open to leaving United, and the club is ready to sell for the right price. The 26-year-old, who joined United for £50 million from Crystal Palace in 2019, has also attracted interest from Galatasaray.
Meanwhile, United manager Erik ten Hag has indicated that the club remains active in the transfer market. Speaking at a press conference in Los Angeles, Ten Hag said: 'I just want a squad that is as strong as possible. We have already had two very good buys, so when everyone is fit, we have a team who can beat everyone, but also in the squad depth, we have to catch up.' He added that United are 'always looking' for opportunities to strengthen before the transfer window closes on August 31.
