Greene King has placed The Teddington Arms, a popular pub in South West London, on the market. The freehold of the establishment, located on Teddington High Street, is being sold as part of the company's new pub estate strategy.
Strategic Decision
The firm announced earlier this year that it aims to achieve sustainable and profitable growth. As part of this plan, approximately 300 pubs were identified as better suited under different operational models. Greene King is exploring the sale of half of these pubs over the medium term, including The Teddington Arms. The remaining half will be converted to leased, tenanted, or franchise venues run by independent operators.
Property Details
The Teddington Arms is being marketed by property specialists AG&G, with a listing on Rightmove indicating that the price is available upon request. The freehold includes the ground-floor pub and one two-bedroom flat above. The remaining upper-floor flats have already been sold on long leases.
Recent Renovation
The pub reopened under Greene King's ownership after a refurbishment in October 2022. The makeover introduced a new bar area, upgraded seating, and a revamped food menu.
A Greene King spokesperson stated: “As part of our pub estate strategy to set us up to deliver sustainable and profitable growth for the future, we are now exploring all options available to us regarding the future of the Teddington Arms, including a potential sale. The pub remains open and trading as usual.”
