Evri and Scope Launch UK's First Charity Shop Parcel Locker in Major Donation Drive
Evri and Scope Launch UK's First Charity Shop Parcel Locker

Evri and disability equality charity Scope have unveiled a major partnership to make donating to charity shops easier, introducing free drop-offs at more than 12,500 Evri ParcelShops and Lockers across the UK, including the installation of what is believed to be the UK's first parcel locker inside a charity shop.

Nationwide Donation-by-Post Service

Following a successful pilot last year, Evri and Scope have relaunched the donation-by-post service nationwide. People can now send unwanted clothing and other suitable items without needing to visit a Scope store. The process involves visiting Evri.com/Scope to create a free parcel label, packaging items following Evri's guidance, printing the label, and dropping the parcel at any participating Evri ParcelShop or locker.

The donated items are then sorted and distributed across Scope's retail network, with proceeds helping to fund the charity's work supporting disabled people. The expanded network includes ParcelShops in locations such as Post Office branches, Asda stores, and thousands of newly installed Evri parcel lockers.

UK's First Charity Shop Parcel Locker

As part of the partnership, Evri will install what is believed to be the UK's first parcel locker inside Scope's Doncaster charity shop. The locker aims to increase customer footfall, provide additional reasons for people to visit the store, and demonstrate how charity retailers can benefit from retail technology that has become increasingly common across the wider high street.

The initiative comes as charity retailers continue to face increasing pressure to secure donated stock while maintaining a presence on UK high streets. Research cited by Scope and Evri found that 46% of people would be more likely to donate to charity if parcel lockers were available, highlighting a demand for convenient donation options.

Encouraging a New Generation of Donors

The organisations hope the donation system will encourage a new generation of donors while supporting sustainable shopping and local communities. Debbie Boylen, head of retail at Scope, said the expanded partnership would help the charity raise more funds while making donating easier for people across the country.

The partnership between Evri and Scope has already raised £200,000. Jonathan Bennett, director of marketing at Evri Group, said: "Through our partnership with Scope we're making donating easier than ever, whether that's through free drop-offs at more than 12,500 locations nationwide or the UK's first charity shop parcel locker. By combining convenience, accessibility and innovation, we're helping more pre-loved items find a second life while supporting Scope's vital work for disabled people."
