East Kilbride FC have confirmed the signing of former Airdrie midfielder Lewis McGrattan on a one-year deal, making him the club's 13th summer arrival. The 25-year-old joins after his contract expired at the League One side, adding depth to Kilby's midfield ahead of the new season.
Move Across Lanarkshire
McGrattan's transfer was first reported by Lanarkshire Live Sport on Saturday, which revealed that the player was in talks with East Kilbride and had been spotted watching their 4-0 friendly win over Kelty Hearts at K-Park. The midfielder has now officially put pen to paper and is expected to feature in pre-season.
He will face his former club early in the campaign, with East Kilbride travelling to Airdrie on August 8 for the second game of the League One season. A club statement read: "East Kilbride FC are thrilled to reveal our latest signing, Lewis McGrattan, who joins following his contract expiration at Airdrieonians. The 25-year-old midfielder is a welcome addition to the Kilby set up and we look forward to introducing him to our fans."
Recent Departures and Arrivals
McGrattan's arrival follows the departure of winger Timam Scott, who left East Kilbride after just four weeks at the club. Scott was announced by Clyde on Monday, having featured for them as a trialist in a 2-1 defeat to Dunfermline at the weekend.
Kilby fans may get their first glimpse of McGrattan in action on Saturday when the team hosts Irvine Meadow in a pre-season friendly at K-Park, with kick-off scheduled for 2pm.
