The Guardian has issued corrections to two recent articles. In a piece titled 'Carspreading raises emissions and the risk of road deaths' (25 June, p13), the estimated number of extra road user deaths by 2040 due to rising car size was misstated. The correct figure is 400 additional deaths annually, not 2,600. The 2,600 figure represents the cumulative total based on current trends. Furthermore, the figure specifically relates to non-drivers.
Nigel Cabourn Obituary Correction
In the obituary of designer Nigel Cabourn (29 June, Journal, p6), it was incorrectly stated that he reworked a 1950s USAF flight jacket into the 'SV4', which became an international sensation. In fact, the jacket was called the US4.
