Chelsea's Dream Midfield: £180m Double Deal Sealed as Fernandez Departs

Chelsea are reportedly set to undergo a major midfield overhaul this summer, with a £180 million double deal on the cards and record signing Enzo Fernandez expected to leave. The west London club endured a disappointing season, finishing 10th in the Premier League and missing out on European football.

Incoming manager Xabi Alonso, who will take charge in July, is expected to implement a 3-4-2-1 formation. With Fernandez reportedly informing the club of his desire to leave just three years after his £106 million move, Chelsea are targeting two England stars to revamp their midfield.

Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton, valued at £80 million, is seen as the ideal left-footed deep playmaker to partner Moises Caicedo in the double pivot. Meanwhile, Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers, with a reported £100 million price tag, could slot in as a direct, powerful No. 10 alongside Cole Palmer.

If Fernandez departs for a fee above £100 million, the sales would largely fund the arrivals. Depth would be provided by Joao Pedro, Estevao, Pedro Neto, Romeo Lavia, and Andrey Santos.
