An appeal has been launched after a 34-year-old British father died suddenly while on holiday in Cyprus.
Sudden Death of Jonas McDowall
Jonas McDowall passed away unexpectedly on June 5 while on holiday. He is survived by his partner and their eight-year-old daughter.
Now, his grief-stricken family are pleading for help to repatriate him back home to the UK and to support his young family as they deal with this devastating loss, as reported by the Daily Star.
GoFundMe Appeal
A GoFundMe page established by family members has already accumulated more than £6,600 towards its £7,500 goal, according to NeedToKnow.
In the fundraiser, organiser George McDowall, Jonas's brother, wrote: "With broken hearts, we are reaching out to ask for help following the sudden and devastating loss of our beloved brother, Jonas, aged 34, who passed away unexpectedly in Cyprus on 5th June."
The appeal portrays Jonas from Hemel Hempstead as a "loving son, brother, partner, father and friend who touched the lives of so many people".
Family's Statement
His family stated that his death has left an "unimaginable void" in their lives. They said that, while dealing with their sorrow, they are also confronted with the unforeseen expenses of repatriating his body, organising a funeral and providing support to the family he leaves behind.
According to the fundraiser, donations will assist in covering the cost of bringing Jonas home from Cyprus, funeral and memorial expenses, travel costs for relatives involved in the arrangements, and support for his partner and daughter.
The family stated: "Jonas was a kind, caring, and hardworking man who would do anything for the people he loved. He deserved many more years with his family, and while nothing can ease the pain of losing him, we want to give him the dignified farewell he deserves and provide some security for the family he leaves behind."
