Arsenal are set for a busy summer transfer window after ending a 22-year wait for the Premier League title. Manager Mikel Arteta is targeting at least five new signings to strengthen his squad, with Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers emerging as a primary target.
Morgan Rogers Leads Arsenal's Transfer Ambitions
The 23-year-old forward, who scored 10 goals and provided seven assists in 37 appearances last season, is open to a £100 million move to the Emirates. However, Manchester United, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea are also monitoring his situation. Rogers is seen as a statement signing to revitalise Arsenal's attack after several players underperformed last term.
To fund the deal, Arteta may offload Leandro Trossard, who is in talks with Besiktas, and Gabriel Martinelli, who managed just one league goal all season. Marcus Rashford is another potential addition, with a £40 million release clause in his Manchester United contract. Barcelona's acquisition of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle has reduced competition for the left-sided attacker.
Martin Odegaard's Future Uncertain
Rogers could compete with Eberechi Eze for the No. 10 role, raising questions about captain Martin Odegaard's long-term future. The Norwegian scored only once in the Premier League last season and, at 28, may seek a fresh challenge. Mirror Football understands Odegaard has attracted interest from clubs in Germany and Italy, and his sale could generate significant funds for reinvestment.
Arsenal are also targeting Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, 18, who has impressed at the World Cup for Morocco. Sporting director Berta has made progress with Bouaddi's representatives, and a deal worth around £60 million could ease the burden on Declan Rice in midfield.
Defensive Reinforcements and Potential Exits
Oscar Mingueza, available on a free transfer from Celta Vigo, is on Arteta's shortlist as a right-back option. Ben White could leave amid Premier League interest, and Jurrien Timber's injury concerns may accelerate Mingueza's integration. Piero Hincapie is set to join permanently from Bayer Leverkusen, competing with Riccardo Calafiori and Myles Lewis-Skelly for a starting spot.
David Raya, William Saliba and Gabriel will anchor the defence, while Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz are preferred as right winger and striker. With potential income from player sales, Arteta could exceed £200 million in summer spending.
Arsenal's potential starting XI for 2026/27: Raya; Mingueza, Saliba, Gabriel, Hincapie; Rice, Bouaddi; Saka, Rogers, Rashford; Havertz.
