Arsenal Agree £33.8m Deal for Christos Tzolis

Arsenal have reached an agreement to sign Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis in a deal worth approximately £33.8 million, according to Standard Sport. The 24-year-old Greek international is seen as a direct replacement for Leandro Trossard, who completed a £15.3m move to Besiktas earlier this week.

Tzolis Keen on Emirates Move

Tzolis is said to be enthusiastic about joining Arsenal. He enjoyed a stellar 2024-25 campaign, scoring 22 goals and providing 29 assists in all competitions for Club Brugge, who won the Belgian Pro League for the 20th time. The winger also played the full 90 minutes when Arsenal beat Club Brugge 3-0 in the Champions League league phase.

Arsenal's Second Summer Signing

Tzolis becomes Arsenal's second signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrival of backup goalkeeper Illan Meslier on a free transfer after his departure from Leeds United. The Gunners also confirmed the permanent signing of defender Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen, after the Ecuador international spent last season on loan at the Premier League champions.

Wide Options Strengthened

Arsenal have been looking to bolster their wide attacking options. Trossard's departure and Gabriel Martinelli's potential exit have created a need for reinforcements. The club retains an interest in Aston Villa attacker Morgan Rogers, and it is not believed that the Tzolis deal will impact their pursuit of the England international.

Potential Centre-Back Addition

Arsenal may also be in the market for another centre-back, depending on the severity of William Saliba's back injury. Saliba suffered the injury during France's World Cup semi-final defeat to Spain and is reportedly considering surgery. He admitted he had been battling the issue throughout last season.
