16 Lloyds Bank and Halifax Branches Closing Next Week: Full List
16 Lloyds and Halifax Branches Closing Next Week

Next week will see over a dozen more high street banks close down across UK towns. A total of 86 confirmed closures are scheduled for June, with a significant number occurring next week. Both Lloyds Bank and Halifax, both under Lloyds Banking Group, will see a combination of 16 branches cease operations next week.

The number of operating high street banks has collapsed over the last few years due to shifting consumer patterns, with more people preferring to bank online. However, as the number of closures increases, concerns are also rising for the elderly and vulnerable. Many big banks have reassured customers that they are doing everything they can to help those affected by any closures, including offering alternative options such as having Community Bankers visit local areas and redirecting to Banking Hubs.

The banking group has said that customers will be able to carry out banking services at any of its three banks (including Bank of Scotland), regardless of who they bank with. For example, an individual with a Halifax account can use services at Lloyds Bank or Bank of Scotland. The co-servicing also applies to the apps.

A spokesperson for Lloyds said: "Customers want the freedom to bank in the way that works for them and we offer more choice and ways to manage money than ever before."
