Belongings including underwear, clothes, shoes and furniture have been found scattered across woodland in Motherwell, leaving locals puzzled.
Discovery by wildlife team
The Motherwell District Wildlife Protection team came across the items during their patrols. Images posted on social media on August 4 show clothes hanging from tree branches, as if placed deliberately.
No camp is set up nearby, and locals have been sharing their theories about the origin of the items.
Local theories
The items appear to be women's clothes, with a high-vis jumper and a bar stool also dumped nearby. Some locals have questioned whether it is a new art installation, while others suggest the belongings might belong to a homeless person or that foxes could have taken someone's washing.
Posting ten pictures online, the charity wrote: "What on earth is this about? Should I report it? It's worse than last time, something depraved is going on here".
The caption suggests this is not the first time the area has been used as a dumping ground.
