Millions of people are set to pass through Manchester Airport during the six-week school summer holidays, as the travel hub prepares for its busiest summer on record. More than 5.7 million passengers are expected to fly in and out between Friday, July 17 and the end of the holidays on September 1.
That equates to more than 120,000 passengers per day, following a record-breaking June in which more than three million passengers used the northern travel hub. Last month, the airport warned it was bracing for its busiest summer to date.
Liquids rule remains in force
Despite the installation of new CT security scanners, the 100ml limit on liquids in hand luggage is still in place. The airport has also warned parents that children's 'squishy' toys can be classified as liquids, so they should be packed in hold luggage or risk being confiscated.

There are currently no cancelled flights from Manchester Airport on Sunday, August 2.
