KFC and La Vieille Ferme are joining forces to launch Coq au Vin, a wine bar pop-up in Shoreditch, London, running from August 28 to August 31. The event will pair KFC's fried chicken with French 'chicken wine' from La Vieille Ferme, a brand known for its rooster logo.
Pop-up details and menu
The pop-up will take place at Kachette Annex on 1 Kingsland Road, Shoreditch. KFC said the menu will 'challenge everything you thought you knew about wine pairings', combining tenders with rosé and hot wings with red wine. The menu includes Popcorn Chicken with La Vieille Ferme Sparkling Rosé, Hot Wings with La Vieille Ferme Rouge, and Original Recipe Tenders with La Vieille Ferme Rosé or Blanc, plus dips such as Original Sauce, Supercharger, and Texas BBQ.
Brand collaboration
La Vieille Ferme sold 14 million bottles of rosé in the UK last year and has sparked copycats. KFC holds roughly a 65% market share across more than 1,000 branches in the UK. For the event, La Vieille Ferme is bringing back its 'Chicken Wine' label exclusively.
Phoebe Syms, fame and partnerships lead at KFC UK and Ireland, said: 'We're iconic fried chicken. They're the iconic Chicken Wine. Coq au Vin is one of those partnerships that just makes sense – and frankly, we can't believe it's taken this long. This August bank holiday, it's poulet all day!'
Andrew Bayley, Managing Director at Famille Perrin UK, added: 'Bringing the nation's favourites together in a unique juxtaposition is all about celebrating the unexpected. Coq au Vin is a playful take on the principle that great wine and great food don't have to follow the rules…a pop-up collaboration that makes customers cross the road.'

The pop-up will be open Friday 28th August from 12pm to 9pm, Saturday 29th August from 12pm to 9pm, Sunday 30th August from 12pm to 9pm, and Monday 31st August from 12pm to 5pm.
