Kelvin Fletcher and his wife Liz had a playful disagreement over household chores and buying eggs before turning their attention to plans for their Cheshire farm. The couple bought the 120-acre farm in 2021, swapping their previous lifestyle for the challenges of running a working farm. However, they are yet to move back into their farmhouse following a devastating fire.
Couple's playful clash over washing-up and eggs
During Sunday's instalment of ITV's Fletcher's Family Farm, Kelvin complained that Liz had left the washing-up after preparing their evening meal. He remarked, "Liz made tea last night, and then she just left everything as it was last night. When I make tea, as soon as I finish making it, I tidy up."
Liz responded sarcastically: "And on today's lesson of how to clean, Kelvin is going to talk you through it." The former soap star replied: "What can I say? I like a tidy ship. And before we talk through our plans for the farm, we've got a couple of domestic issues to clean up."
Kelvin then questioned why Liz was buying eggs when they already had chickens. Explaining her decision, Liz said: "Because I can't keep wasting time looking for eggs." She added, "Sometimes I just don't want to be the parent or the wife. I just want to be like 18 again. I've got no responsibilities."
Plans for maize maze and oak crop
The teasing continued as they prepared to discuss the farm's future. When Kelvin asked, "Are we sitting next to each other or not?", Liz quipped, "No, I'm not your friend." Kelvin said, "Living and working together can sometimes be a challenge, but we always kiss and make up. Eventually."
Despite their differences over domestic habits, the pair found common ground when Liz suggested splitting a field between a maize maze with a café and space for Kelvin to grow oats.
"Yeah. Okay," Kelvin agreed, prompting a surprised Liz to ask: "Is that just a straight yes?" He confirmed: "Yeah, that's a good plan."
Elaborating further about the plans for their Cheshire farm, Kelvin said, "Liz has done a cracking job planning it all out. Above the driveway, we'll split the fields in two. The maze will be in the bottom half, and our new oak crop will be in the top."
He said to his wife, "It might be easier having the cafe or whatever it is as a pop-up in the corner. Just thinking of access."
The couple then came up with the idea of offering an afternoon tea in the cafe, which will be located in the maze itself.
Fletcher's Family Farm airs on Sunday at 11.25am on ITV.
