Indoor pumpkin patch opens at Summerseat Garden Centre

An indoor pumpkin patch has opened at Summerseat Garden Centre in Bury, featuring a children's trail and running from Saturday, October 3 until Halloween.

Woodland-themed attractions and food huts

The woodland-themed patch offers photo opportunities for visitors, a trail for children, and food huts serving sourdough toasties, hot mini donuts, autumn spiced lattes and fully loaded hot chocolates during weekends and October half term.

Pumpkins are available to buy, with scarecrows and woodland 'animals' helping to create an 'enchanting seasonal setting'.

Seasonal celebrations and magic school

A spokesperson for the garden centre said: “We love celebrating the changing seasons at Summerseat and autumn is such a special time here. This year we’ve created a beautiful new woodland feel for our Pumpkin Patch and added our new pop-up food hut, so visitors can grab a warm toastie or sweet treat and really make a day of their visit.”

“We want Summerseat to be somewhere people come to enjoy everything they love about autumn.”

Other events include a Pumpkin Patch Magic School, where children can join The Marquis of Magic for a one-hour workshop learning tricks, performing skills and taking home a magic set. Tickets cost £20, with only a small number remaining.

Returning event and opening hours

This is the second year the Railway Street garden centre has hosted the patch, allowing visitors to pick a pumpkin regardless of weather. Last year's visitors have commented on social media: "Definitely a trip to Summerseat for me. It was brilliant last year," and "It's looking fab, you guys always do a great job."

The free pumpkin patch is open daily from October 3 to 31, from 9am until 6pm Monday to Saturday and 5pm on Sunday. Food huts open every weekend in October and daily during half term, from 10am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4.30pm Sunday.
