Golf Villa Rentals Ltd, a UK-based travel company specialising in golf package holidays, ceased trading on August 18, 2026. The company, based in Seaford, East Sussex, offered holidays worldwide, including villa and apartment accommodation for small or large groups.
Destinations and Services
Destinations available with Golf Villa Rentals Ltd included European hotspots such as Cyprus, France, Greece, Portugal, and Spain. The company also provided golf resort packages in the UK and across the USA.
An ABTA spokesperson said: "We are sorry to inform you that Golf Villa Rentals Ltd has ceased trading with effect from 18 August 2026. The company sold package holidays which included accommodation and travel (excluding flight) and/or other services."
Advice for Customers
Customers with holidays booked through Golf Villa Rentals Ltd have been urged to take action. ABTA advised: "If you booked a package holiday through Golf Villa Rentals Ltd, financial protection for those holidays was provided by financial failure insurance. Customers with bookings should visit the Evolution Insurance Company Ltd website for further information and advice on how to make a claim."
Golf Villa Rentals Ltd is not the only travel company to have ceased trading this month. Frasers Travel, a family-run travel company based in Scotland, was confirmed to have collapsed after more than 40 years in business.
Other Travel Company Failures
In a statement shared on its Facebook page on Tuesday, 18 August, Frasers Travel said: "We regret to inform you that Frasers Travel Ltd has today ceased trading. We would like to thank all our past clients for their loyalty and support. If you have an existing booking can you please email details to info@mclenancorporate.com."
ABTA also said: "We are sorry to inform you that Frasers Travel Ltd has ceased trading from 18 August 2026. If you’ve booked travel arrangements with Frasers Travel Ltd, you should follow the specific advice set out below."
They advised holidaymakers: "If you booked a holiday through Frasers Travel Ltd, the tour operator with who Frasers Travel Ltd booked your holiday will be named on your paperwork. If you booked a flight inclusive holiday, your tour operator will be named on your ATOL Certificate under 'Who is protecting your trip'. To ensure your holiday continues as planned, you will need to contact the Credit Control Department of your Tour Operator with whom you have a contract. Your booking should continue as normal and they will now be your direct point of contact. Please ensure that you have your documentation with you as they may require information from this to assist you."
Furthermore, TS Travel Realisations Ltd and Yourtravelshop.com Ltd were both confirmed as ATOL failures this month, which can happen when a company stops trading or becomes insolvent. In addition, Travel Bespoke Ltd and Trav Expert Limited shut down in May, and in January, Asiara UK Ltd, Simply Florida Travel Ltd, and Regen Central Ltd were all confirmed by ATOL as no longer protected by their schemes.
