A powerful tornado has left a trail of destruction in a residential community outside Houston, Texas, with authorities confirming that more than 100 homes have been damaged.
The incident occurred on Monday, November 24, 2025, in the Memorial Northwest neighbourhood of Spring, Texas. Remarkably, despite the extensive damage to property, no injuries were reported.
Community Reels from Storm Damage
Images and drone footage shared by the Harris County Precinct 3 constable's office revealed the sheer force of the tornado. The visuals showed homes with roofs stripped of their shingles and streets obstructed by scattered debris.
One resident, Guillermo Vargas, faced the sobering task of surveying the damage to his own home, where his garage was swept clean off its foundation. Neighbours, like Jose Rosas, were quick to offer assistance, helping with the initial clean-up efforts in a display of community spirit.
Emergency Response and Weather Warnings
In response to the devastation, the Houston Fire Department mobilised its resources. Spokesperson Rustin Rawlings stated that five members of its specialised saw team were dispatched to the area to cut up and remove large trees that had been toppled by the severe winds.
The tornado struck after the National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for southeastern Texas, including the city of Houston. This watch remained in effect until 1 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25. The service also issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of the same region, urging residents to remain vigilant.
The office of Constable Mark Herman has been actively involved in assessing the damage and coordinating the local response in the affected Harris County community.
