An urgent search and rescue operation is underway in western Victoria for a family of four feared missing in the catastrophic bushfires that have engulfed the region. Families Unaccounted For in Fire Zone
Victoria Police confirmed they are searching for the family after they could not be contacted or located. The fire, which ignited near the town of Bayindeen on Thursday, has created extremely dangerous conditions, complicating efforts to reach all properties within the fireground. The missing family is believed to be from the Raglan area, one of the communities hardest hit by the fast-moving flames. The bushfire, now known as the Bayindeen fire, remains out of control and has already consumed more than 11,000 hectares of land.
