The extensive three-day search for a grandfather swept into treacherous floodwaters in South Australia's remote far north has concluded with tragic results, as rescue crews have recovered his body.

South Australia Police have confirmed the deceased man is 65-year-old Tony Aspden, a grandfather who worked as a cook on various Outback stations.
