A heat dome settling over western Europe is set to bring temperatures of up to 40°C to parts of England and Wales in the middle of this week, as countries across the continent experience extreme heat. The UK has issued rare red warnings over extreme temperatures that are expected to hit record highs for June.

UK Braces for Record June Heat

The Met Office has issued a four-day extreme heat warning as temperatures are predicted to reach 38°C in London. France Under Red Alerts

French authorities on Monday placed 49 of the country's 96 mainland departments on a level 1 danger-to-life warning. A further six departments will be added to the red list on Tuesday. Paris is due to register its highest temperature for June, reaching 38.4°C, according to preliminary numbers from Météo-France. Spain Endures First Official Heatwave

Spain's first official heatwave of this summer began on Sunday, with daytime highs of up to 42°C and sweltering nights.
