Donald Trump has shared video footage showing the final moments of a British man who was attacked by a tiger before dying at Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster. The clip, posted on his Truth Social account, was accompanied by the signed message: "Don’t ever mess with nature!"
Footage and follow-up post
The video showed the animal biting and clawing the victim as he sat in the enclosure, but did not show him being killed. A short time later, Mr Trump posted a separate message featuring a video montage that appeared to show a series of other people being mauled by lions, accompanied by an upbeat soundtrack.
Incident and investigation
The man killed in the incident has been named in reports as William Chapman. He entered the tiger enclosure on Saturday, October 10, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency services were contacted shortly after 1.30pm. Police said Mr Chapman was visiting the park alone.
A health and safety investigation has been launched into the incident. The park will remain closed on Wednesday for a fifth day following the attack.
