Victor Osimhen has branded Barcelona the 'best team in the world' ahead of Premier League title rivals Arsenal and Manchester City.
Barca have enjoyed a superb start to the 2026/27 season, winning all eight of their La Liga games and scoring a staggering 34 goals in the process. Hansi Flick's side have already opened up a five-point gap at the top of the Spanish top-flight, with fierce rivals Real Madrid only fourth under Jose Mourinho.
Champions League form
Barcelona also kick-started their Champions League campaign with an emphatic 5-1 win over Feyenoord and will be looking for another victory on Tuesday night when they visit Galatasaray.
The Turkish giants are top of the Super Lig after eight games but Osimhen is aware that a clash with Barca represents a significant step-up.
Osimhen's verdict
Arsenal have often been hailed as the best team in the world over the past six months after winning the Premier League last season and reaching the Champions League final. Kevin De Bruyne bestowed that tag on the Gunners after his Napoli side lost to Arsenal earlier in the season, but Osimhen believes Barcelona are currently the best team in world football.
'I know that Barcelona is one of the best teams in history… and the best in the world right now,' Osimhen told Spanish outlet Sport. 'If you play against a team with players of such quality, you must play both with emotion and seriousness, and press in the attacking zones.
'The match against Barcelona will be difficult. But, to be honest, just like my teammates, I am also very excited about this encounter.
'We are ready; whatever the result of the match, we will face it with our heads held high. Playing against Barcelona at Rams Park will be spectacular.'
Barcelona's summer signings
Barcelona bolstered what is already a deep and talented squad with the signings of Rodri and Anthony Gordon over the summer. World Cup and Ballon d'Or winner Rodri, formerly of Manchester City, is widely considered the best midfielder in the world, while ex-Newcastle United winger Gordon is an England regular.
