A private helicopter crashed on the Greek tourist island of Sifnos, killing three people and sparking a fire, authorities confirmed.
The aircraft came down in the Tholos area of Sifnos, triggering a blaze, according to the fire service. Emergency crews recovered the bodies of three individuals from the crash site, officials said. The identities of those aboard and what caused the incident remain unknown at this stage.
Emergency Response
Emergency services were first alerted to the incident at around 6:17pm, reports Proto Thema. Firefighters attended the scene alongside a rescue team from Syros, which arrived on a high-speed boat operated by the Fire Brigade.
An image taken in the immediate aftermath appeared to show thick black smoke billowing from a fireball at the crash site.

Sifnos is a stunning island in the western part of the Cyclades island group in Greece, sitting right between Serifos and Milos. It sits around 76 nautical miles (140 km) from Athens' main port, Piraeus, and is widely celebrated as a culinary hotspot with a rich pottery history and scenic villages.
