Pokemon Pokopia Paint Guide: How to Unlock All Colour Recipes

Transform your Kanto island with vibrant hues using this comprehensive paint guide for Pokemon Pokopia. The game allows players to rebuild the region to their liking, including customising the colours of every item. While paint is essential for this personalisation, obtaining it and unlocking additional colours isn't immediately straightforward.

Accessing Paint in Pokemon Pokopia

Paint isn't available from the start of the game. Players must progress through the story until the mechanic is introduced. Key to this process are Pokemon with the Crush ability, which is required to squash berries into paint colours. Keep an eye out for these creatures as you explore.

How to Craft Paint in Pokopia

To craft paint, you need to hand over specific berries to a Pokemon possessing the Crush ability. Approach one of these Pokemon and select the Look at this! option, then choose Make me some paint if you have the correct recipe items. Below is a list of Pokemon confirmed to have the Crush ability:

Finding Berries and Alternative Methods

Berries are scattered across your island, though some variants may be more abundant than others. If you're lacking specific berries, explore Dream Islands or purchase paint colours from Palette Town after it reaches Level 5.

Using Paint Balloons for Colour Changes

Paint Balloons offer another way to alter item colours. First, complete the questline for Smearguru, located south of Bleak Beach, which unlocks after finishing the Withered Wasteland area. Once Smearguru teaches you how to craft Paint Balloons, use any crafting bench to create them. To change an item's colour, simply throw a Paint Balloon at it.

With this guide, you're now equipped to fully customise your Pokemon Pokopia experience. Happy painting and enjoy bringing your island to life with a splash of colour!
