The movie is set for release on March 3, 2028. Kit Connor, known for 'Heartstopper', leads the cast, reuniting with Garland after 'Warfare'. He is joined by Ben Whishaw, Cailee Spaeny, Tom Burke, and Havana Rose Liu. Other cast members include Sonoya Mizuno, Jonathan Pryce, Ruby Cruz, Nick Offerman, John Hodgkinson, Jefferson Hall, Emma Laird, and Peter Serafinowicz.
Producers include Peter Rice, Andrew Macdonald, Allon Reich from DNA, and George R. R. Martin alongside Vince Gerardis. Martin co-created the game's mythological story with FromSoftware's Hidetaka Miyazaki.
'Elden Ring', a dark fantasy-action RPG, debuted in 2022 to critical acclaim, selling over 30 million copies worldwide and earning more than 400 Game of the Year awards. Garland, a longtime fan of the game, personally pitched the adaptation to publishers Bandai Namco and FromSoftware.
