Fantasy FC Returns to EA FC 26 with Dynamic Live Upgrades
A new era of dynamic upgrades is arriving in EA FC 26 as the Fantasy FC promo makes its highly anticipated return. This live promotion will see real-world football performances driving massive boosts for your favourite stars and legendary Heroes, adding an exciting layer of strategy to Ultimate Team.
The promo follows the recent Knockout Royalty event, which lasted just one week instead of the usual fortnight-long cycle. Players are now braced for some high-powered special cards, including a batch of new Heroes. The most thrilling aspect is that even though these improved versions of players are already impressive, there's significant room for further upgrades to come based on actual match results.
EA FC 26 Fantasy FC Release Date and Schedule
As with previous promos in EA FC, new content typically lands on a Friday. The Fantasy FC event in EA FC 26 is scheduled to arrive on Friday, February 20, 2026. The official release time is set for 6pm GMT (1pm EST / 10am PST).
Cards from Fantasy FC Team 1 will remain available in packs until 6pm GMT on Friday, February 27. A second squad is expected to arrive at that time to complete the two-week event cycle, offering players fresh opportunities to acquire boosted cards.

Yaya Toure and Jaap Stam are both expected to receive new Fantasy FC Hero cards, while Cole Palmer, Douglas Luiz, and Antoine Semenyo are among those that insider FutSheriff indicates will feature in the initial squad.

Expected Content and Upgrade Mechanics
Alongside the release of these cards, which will be available in packs, we also anticipate a host of new objectives, Squad Building Challenges, and themed live events. After a week of knockout tournaments that the EA FC community has described as among the hardest competition in franchise history, these new tournaments will likely come as a welcome reprieve.
Players that are set to be included in the promo as either rewards for objectives or SBCs include Joao Cancelo (Barcelona) and Ultimate Team cult heroes Victor Ibarbo and Gervinho. Other players like Steph Catley (Arsenal), Ricardo Horta (Braga), and Olivia Holdt (Tottenham) may also feature in some form.
All Fantasy FC cards will follow the same upgrade path. Last year, in EA FC 25, the upgrade system worked as follows:
- If club wins 2 out of the next 4 league games - Overall rating boost of +1
- Club scores 10 goals in the next 4 league games - Boost face statistic to 99
- Player scores or assists in the next 4 league games (attackers and midfielders only, excluding CDM) OR a clean sheet in the next 4 league games (goalkeepers, defenders and CDM) - Skill move boost to 5 stars
- Player gets zero cards in the next 4 league games - Overall rating boost of +1 and/or weak foot boost to 5 stars
- Club wins the main domestic cup - Third PlayStyle+ and a 99 face stat boost
- Club wins the domestic league - Overall rating +1 and a third PlayStyle+
The Hero card upgrade path was slightly different. Each Hero was allocated to a club they famously represented - for example, Yaya Toure would this year be allocated to Manchester City - meaning:
- Allocated club wins 2 out of its next 4 league games - Overall rating +1 and New Role++
- Allocated club score 10 goals in its next 4 league games - 99 face stat
- Allocated club wins main domestic cup - Third PlayStyle+ and a 99 face stat boost
- Allocated club wins the domestic league - Third PlayStyle+ and Overall rating +1
However, leaker FUT Police suggests this year's path could be different. While the same four-game period still applies, the conditions have reportedly changed:
- Club obtains six league points from four matches - +1 Overall rating and all Roles ++ for all positions
- Club scores 10 goals - 99 face stat
- Player contributes one goal or assist (attacking players) or one clean sheet (defensive players) - second PlayStyle+ and one base PlayStyle OR two base PlayStyles if they already have two PlayStyle+
- 12 defensive contributions (e.g., saves, clearances, blocks interceptions) OR six attacking contributions (e.g., shots on target, key passes) - 5 star skill moves or weak foot boost
- Seasonal upgrades are marked as 'unknown' by FUT Police
As the domestic football season reaches its critical final months, this promo perfectly highlights players facing crucial challenges as the fixture list comes to its conclusion. With real-world performances directly impacting in-game attributes, Fantasy FC adds an unprecedented level of engagement to EA FC 26's Ultimate Team mode.
