Battlefield 6 has faced challenges retaining players, but its latest map, Hagental Base, is receiving high praise. Added in Season 2, the map is set in bunker corridors beneath a German mountainside and focuses entirely on infantry combat, with no vehicles. It draws comparisons to classic maps like Operation Metro and Operation Locker.
On Reddit, players have called Hagental Base 'one of the best in the series,' with one comment predicting 'people will be playing Hagental Base for a long, long time.' Another player described it as a 'meat grinder' but with more flanking options than similar maps, making for dynamic gameplay. Many comments agree, with one gamer saying they now only play Hagental Base and Cairo.
The map also features a night mode that forces players to use night vision scopes. Hagental Base is the fourth new map since launch, bringing the total to 14. More maps are expected in Season 3, including a remake of Golmud Railway from Battlefield 4, which will be the largest map in the game.
Despite strong sales, EA recently made cuts to the Battlefield 6 team, though the number of jobs affected is unknown.
