ARC Raiders Update 1.23.0 Overhauls Crafting System to Reduce Tedium

Embark Studios has announced a major overhaul to the crafting system in ARC Raiders, set to arrive with update 1.23.0 on April 8, 2026. The update aims to address player complaints that crafting has become too tedious, streamlining the process to keep players focused on action rather than menu navigation.

Currently, when players lack materials for a craft, they must exit the menu, recycle gear, or visit NPCs to acquire missing items. Embark admitted this was a 'pain point' that interfered with gameplay. The new update introduces an 'Acquire Resources' button within the crafting menu, which provides a clear list of every available source for needed materials.

Players can then directly recycle items, purchase from the NPC Celeste, or use other methods to fill gaps without losing their flow. However, Embark emphasised that materials must be available—either in the player's inventory or from an NPC—so the button cannot conjure items from nothing.

The update was originally scheduled for April 7 but was delayed to April 8 at 10am BST, as confirmed in the ARC Raiders Discord server. Embark stated that this quality-of-life change 'runs deeper than one button' and hinted at further streamlining updates in the future.
