Yankee Candle drops £30 Traitors scents ahead of Celebrity Traitors episode 3
Yankee Candle launches Traitors candles ahead of episode 3

Yankee Candle has released two limited-edition scents inspired by the BBC show The Traitors, just in time for the third episode of Celebrity Traitors, airing on BBC One next Thursday. The Signature Faithful Large Jar Candle and Signature Traitor Large Jar Candle, each priced at £30, are now available from Amazon.

Both candles come in Yankee Candle's classic glass jar with a lid and offer a burn time of up to 150 hours. The Faithful Candle features cashmere, rose, and a warm amber base, creating a soft, powdery fragrance. The Traitor Candle combines dark woods, warm spice, and patchouli for a deeper, more intense aroma.

Candle care and extras

To maintain the candles, trim the wick to 5mm before lighting and straighten it while the wax is soft. On first use, allow the top layer of wax to melt completely to the edges to avoid tunnelling.

For fans seeking more Traitors-themed merchandise, The Traitors Board Game is available at Argos for £24. Players work together on six adventures to earn gold, while a traitor secretly aims to claim it all. The Traitors: Live Experience, priced at £90 for two people via Buyagift, is also available in London's West End, offering an immersive game where guests play as a Faithful or a Traitor.

Reviewer feedback

Reviewers have shared mixed but generally positive feedback on the new candles. One Traitor fan said: "This large jar has been on the go in our living room for a few weeks now, and it's exactly what I hoped for, a proper warm, comforting scent that makes the whole room feel welcoming."

Another reviewer noted: "The combination of woody notes, spice and patchouli gives it a more grown-up feel, while the vanilla in the base should help soften the overall fragrance." A Faithful Candle enthusiast commented: "The smell is really nice, fills the room well, and the burn time has been excellent so far. A little bit pricey compared to others, but if you're a big fan of the show, then it might make a good gift."

However, some reviewers expressed reservations about the price, with one stating: "The main reservation is the price. One candle is already an indulgence, and if you wanted both candles in the set, you would be looking at around £60." Another added: "The extended burning time and well-made glass container do help take some of the sting out of the price."
