UK's first station food hall to open at London Victoria

The UK's first food hall inside a railway station will open next week in London. Market Place Food Hall will open its sixth London venue on Friday, October 16, at Victoria train station.

The dog-friendly venue will serve cocktails, show live sport and have 10 global food traders, selling Mexican tacos, Argentinean grills, Japanese street food and Caribbean dishes. Up to 180 commuters will be able to sit at the venue and keep an eye on their journeys through the live train departure screens.

Location and Background

Market Place Food Hall Victoria follows the brand's five openings across London, including Leicester Square, St Paul's, Vauxhall, Harrow and Peckham. This one will be located inside Victoria Station’s Victoria Place Shopping Centre, with an entrance via the main station concourse.

Holly Hilton, marketing director at Market Place Food Hall, said they wanted to "create an experience that challenges the traditional perception of station dining".

What the Venue Offers

"Market Place Food Halls offer the convenience of a quick meal with the quality and character of 10 independent global food traders, alongside great drinks and a space designed to sit, relax and enjoy your food."

"With a live departure screen inside the food hall, guests can take their time, keep track of their train and make their way to the platform when the time comes. It’s about transforming time spent at the station into part of the journey, a destination in its own right, rather than simply a stop along the way."

Opening Offers and Full Trader List

Opening offers and giveaways will be held throughout the venue's first month, including free food and drink and happy hour deals.

The venue will have 10 different food traders: Argentinian Grill (Argentinian meats and steaks), Hide & Greek (gyros, wraps and loaded fries), Inamo Sukoshi (sushi and Japanese inspired street food), Jollof Mama (jollof rice and West African dishes), Limin (Caribbean-Indian dishes including jerk chicken roti, curried goat and samosas), Made in Puglia (Italian pizzas), SABA (Korean-inspired bulgogi bowls and crispy fried chicken), Streat Latin (tacos, burritos and nachos), Thai House (pad Thai and street food dishes), and The Duck Shed (duck wraps and burgers).
