Microsoft has officially put to rest rumours that the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day might launch on PlayStation 5. The company also released the official PC system requirements for the highly anticipated shooter.
Microsoft Reaffirms Console Exclusivity
Responding to speculation, Xbox CSO Matthew Ball stated that reports of Gears of War: E-Day coming to PS5 are completely false. He emphasised that both Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution will remain exclusive to Xbox and PC platforms.
"These rumours are false," Ball explained. "Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution will stay exclusive. There are no conversations and have been no conversations to reverse course."
Ball added that players can continue to expect signature exclusives from Xbox every year.
Why the Rumours Started
The speculation emerged amid reports of potential studio closures and layoffs within the Xbox division. Some fans assumed that financial pressures might force Microsoft to reconsider its exclusivity strategy. However, the company has denied any such plans.
