Liverpool: Munoz shines as Barcola alternative, Jones exit nears

Victor Munoz delivered a standout performance for Liverpool in a friendly against Como, potentially easing the club's pursuit of PSG winger Bradley Barcola. Meanwhile, Curtis Jones' transfer to Inter Milan is reportedly nearing completion.

Munoz Impresses in Friendly

Liverpool faced Italian side Como twice on Sunday, with the first friendly taking place behind closed doors at AXA Training Centre. Munoz, who was signed from Osasuna for £34.6m in June, started on the left wing and was a constant threat, tormenting Como right-back Ivan Smolcic before being substituted in the 46th minute of a 70-minute match.

Munoz's display has raised questions about whether Liverpool need to sign a new winger like Barcola, who primarily operates on the left. With Rio Ngumoha also adapting to playing on both flanks, an alternative may already be at the club.

Barcola's Price Tag a Hurdle

Liverpool have identified Barcola as their top target to bolster their attacking options, following Mohamed Salah's departure to Trabzonspor. However, PSG's £130m asking price is currently out of Liverpool's range, and Barcola's preference for the left wing does not align with the club's need for a right-sided attacker.

The Reds have made three senior signings this summer: Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes for £60m, Ronald Araujo on a season-long loan from Barcelona with an option to buy for £47.1m, and Munoz.

Jones Set for Inter Move

Curtis Jones is expected to leave Liverpool this summer, with Inter Milan showing long-term interest. Liverpool's £34m asking price has so far been too high for Inter, who recently sold Davide Frattesi to Lazio to free up funds.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are preparing to sell another midfielder, Luis Henrique, to enable the move for Jones. Roma are reportedly one of the few clubs interested in signing Henrique.
