Battlefield 6 Season 4's Top Gun collaboration arrives on August 18, 2026, bringing character skins for Miles Teller, Lewis Pullman and Charles Parnell, along with two new game modes inspired by the Tom Cruise movie. Battlefield x Top Gun release time
The event kicks off at 12pm BST on August 18, 2026, as confirmed via the official EA blog post. That converts to 4:00 AM PDT in Los Angeles, 7:00 AM EDT in New York, 1:00 PM CEST in Paris and Berlin, and 8:00 PM JST in Tokyo, among other timezones. As the event starts globally at the same time, there's no way to access the new content early.
Players may be able to preload the event assets from four hours ahead of the start time. It might be worth leaving your console or PC on from around 8am BST to ensure you have the latest version of Battlefield 6 installed.
Battlefield 6 free trial explained
At the same time as the Top Gun event starts, Battlefield 6 multiplayer becomes free to try for all gamers. This runs for exactly seven days until next Tuesday at 12pm BST on August 25, 2026.
During this period, players can log into a select few maps and modes at no charge, including the new Top Gun event and the new version of Wake Island. Only four maps and modes are available in the free version. Players need to buy the full game to access the full multiplayer experience, though they can play alongside others who own the full game.
Any progress earned in the free trial will carry over to the full game if purchased later.
