Fortnite servers have crashed, leaving thousands of players unable to access Battle Royale. Independent outage tracker Down Detector has logged numerous complaints from users experiencing login and matchmaking failures.
The issues are affecting players globally, with reports concentrated in the US, UK, and Europe. Epic Games acknowledged the problem on social media, stating: 'We're aware that players may not be able to log into or matchmake in Fortnite.' The company is working on a fix.
The outage began shortly after the latest Item Shop refresh, which reintroduced Mortal Kombat skins. Meanwhile, players are anticipating the Mother's Day bundle featuring Lois Griffin, Peggy Hill, and Linda Belcher, scheduled for release on 8 May at 5pm PT / 8pm ET, or 1am BST on 9 May in the UK.
