Tennent's Sixes Returns: Rangers, Celtic Lead Indoor Title Chase

The Tennent's Sixes indoor football tournament has returned after a 33-year absence, with all 12 Scottish Premiership clubs competing for glory at Glasgow's Braehead Arena this weekend.

The last tournament was won by Partick Thistle at the SECC in 1993. Rangers lifted the first crown in 1984, while Celtic and Rangers combined for just three titles during the competition's original run. Aberdeen and Hearts each won twice, with Hibs and Dundee also claiming the trophy.

Confirmed Squads and Format

Each club has submitted a squad of former players, with legends such as Charlie Mulgrew, Aiden McGeady, and Gary Hooper representing Celtic, while Rangers are led by manager Barry Ferguson with players including Charlie Adam and Andy Halliday.

The tournament features three regionalised groups of four in Saturday's group stages. Group winners and runners-up advance to the knockout stages, joined by the two best third-placed teams. Every game has a winner, with a bonus point awarded for a penalty shootout win in the event of a draw. The sin bin also returns, with organisers hoping to capture the imagination of football fans and families.

Live Coverage and Schedule

All action from the weekend is being shown live on Premier Sports. The afternoon session on Saturday includes Falkirk v Motherwell, St Johnstone v Dundee, Kilmarnock v Celtic, Hibs v Hearts, Dundee United v Aberdeen, and St Mirren v Rangers. The evening session features Falkirk v Hibs, St Johnstone v Dundee United, Kilmarnock v St Mirren, Motherwell v Hearts, Dundee v Aberdeen, and Celtic v Rangers.

The tournament is being held with the official backing of the SPFL and takes place on October 3 and 4 at Braehead Arena.
