Greg Davies and Alex Horne have confirmed the first UK stage show of their hit comedy series Taskmaster. Taskmaster Live On Stage will be performed at Manchester’s AO Arena on May 26, before heading to the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on June 22.
Special guests and audience participation
The show will feature special guest contestants, with the remaining spots up for grabs among audience members. Davies joked: ‘I am thrilled that my tiny assistant and I are to bring Taskmaster to such illustrious venues. Whilst on one hand it feels daunting, on the other it feels like destiny. Rest assured my judgements will remain even-handed, and every effort will be made for everyone to have a good time, except Alex.’
Show creator Horne added: ‘This is one of the maddest moments of my life. For me the Hollywood Bowl means Monty Python and the Manchester Arena means Oasis. Now it’s our turn?! Luckily I’m with my biggest friend Greg, so I’m going to be so brave.’
Ticket sale dates
To get tickets, fans will need to have their fingers at the ready this month. Tickets go on pre-sale exclusively to the Taskmaster mailing list on October 14, with general sale beginning on October 16.
Taskmaster Live On Stage debuted in the US earlier this year, with tickets selling out in just 13 minutes. Davies and Horne were joined by comedians John Oliver, Seth Meyers, Lisa Gilrow and Jason Manztoukas, who were special guests.
Series background
The series, which first aired in 2015, sees five celebrities battle through bizarre challenges for points awarded by the taskmaster. Its 22nd series began airing in September this year.
