Southport Airshow: Red Arrows to headline August bank holiday event

The Red Arrows will headline this year's Southport Airshow, performing on both days of the August bank holiday weekend. The two-day event is expected to draw tens of thousands of visitors to the seaside town.

Red Arrows schedule and timings

On Saturday, the RAF display team will take to the skies at 3.30pm, with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight concluding the afternoon's programme. On Sunday, the Red Arrows perform again at 3.30pm, with the Typhoons closing the airshow. Organisers note that timings may change due to weather conditions.

Weather concerns and official update

As of Friday, rain was forecast in Southport for Saturday afternoon. In a Thursday update, a Red Arrows spokesperson said: "With poor weather into the bank holiday weekend, the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team will be doing all it can to get to planned events and displays." They added: "At this stage, displays in Clacton and Southport are unaffected but airshow crowds should continue to monitor official event and team social media pages."
